“A million suns” isthe second book in the Across the Universe series written by Beth Revis. Amyand her parents were frozen to travel to space in a spaceship that will leadthem to a new planet, they were supposed to be unfrozen when they reached theplanet but Amy was awoken before that happened, forced to live in a spaceshipwith a really peculiar population; although for them the peculiar will be Amy.

Amy keeps going towere her parents lay frozen, she wants to wake them but she knows she shouldnot. Since Elder stopped giving the population the fidus the substance that made everyone follow Eldest rules thepopulation has been really difficult to manage. Some people do not attend totheir work; other people just do not trust him, and in the middle of it, thereis Amy and the leads Orion left her to find the truth, the reason behind hisbehavior. Apart from that Elder has promise Amy he will find out what happenedto the motor and why they have not reached the planet; however what he willfind, was not what he was expecting.

“A million suns” was a compelling book, even when it has been yearssince I read the first book. I wanted to own the three books in the series,since I started collecting them in Spanish. And I finally got the last one lastmonth; I should add how happy I am the Spanish edition kept the covers untilthe last book, since I hate when they change editions in the middle of a seriesand do not give the opportunity to get all of the books in matching covers andspines. Now going back into the book, it was really compelling specially thepart in which Amy follows Orion’s clues, as it was a little like a mysterynovel.

Elder’s part was less fast paced but really interesting; how someonethat wants to do things right cannot convince the population of it. I reallythink the politics in this book were really well developed.

The thing that I did not enjoyed that much was the romance part, I meanthe do act like a couple and think in each other as a couple but they createthis awkward moments between them that was a little exasperating.

To sum up, I am so glad I finally decided to finish this series, sinceit is a really good one. I would really recommend it even if you are not a fanof science fiction.

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.
