Clockwork Prince is the second book in the “Infernal Devices” trilogy. The trilogy is set in the world “The Mortal Instruments” series takes place. Both series were written by Cassandra Clare.

After what happened with Mortmain charlotte has to confront the council, they asked her to prove she was able to be the institute’s head master by catching Mortmain in two weeks. Apart from that Benedict’s Lightwood sons will teach Sophie, Tessa and Jessamine how to fight properly. Benedict wants to be the director himself so he will try Charlotte to be seen as incapable of doing so. In addition to all that Will has asked Magnus Bane for help, he wants to find a demon that might be behind the reason why he leaved his home, and why he behaves the way he does. On the other hand, Jem and Tessa have been getting closer.

I cannot describe Clockwork Prince in another way but compelling. There was a long time since I finished a book this fast, I couldn’t put it down. There were a lot things happening in this book at all times. There were many things that surprised me in this book, although I was expecting something like what was happening to Will, not exactly the same thing but something of the nature. I really like Magnus character, which I think it’s very common, the way he treated Will as a friend was touching.

On the other hand, I kind of felt bad for all the characters in the triangle: Jem, Will and Tessa. Because I don’t find a clear solution to the situation they get themselves into.

And last but not least, I found this book less eerie and mysterious; it felt more like a book from the other series. Therefore I hope in the last book this series will get back it mysteriousness.

As I said when I reviewed the first book in the trilogy I really recommend this book, but I also keep thinking the way of reading it is by publication order with the mortal instruments series, as they really complement each other.

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month.
